A Holistic Approach To Feng Shui and Interior Design in Manhattan

 

Much of the Feng Shui practiced today relies on old world superstition and "New Age" self-help ideas that became popular in the 1990's. The application of wind chimes, money plants, crystals and oriental nic-nacks attempt to serve as portals to health, wealth and happiness can often times appear hokey and disappointing.

 

I'm happy to say that Feng Shui has grown up since it's magical/mystical beginnings and has adopted a more modern, smarter, culturally relevant position in contemporary living.

 

Over the last fifteen years, I have strived to evolve my practice by embracing an innovative approach to Traditional Feng Shui, by integrating many useful techniques from Environmental Psychology, Personal Development, Holistic Health Care, Kinesiology, and Eco-Design. In combination, these techniques offer a blueprint for "enlightened living!"

When I was looking for a Feng Shui Consultant, I wanted to hire someone with a diverse background in addition to being... a top Feng Shui expert. What impressed me about Will was his background in construction, interior design, holistic medicine, and just being extraordinarily kind.After a number of things left my home in a divorce, I had no idea what to do with my living room and wanted to improve my environment overall. I had done what I knew how to do but needed a professional to help me get my house in order to support my new goals.The initial conversation I had with Will was very informative and we did our first consultation the next evening. With Zoom and Facetime, Will was able to give me an overview education of our objectives and then gave me a list of recommendations to do before our next appointment.Everything he suggested immediately made my home feel better, more secure, and relaxing. I was given a promotion at work after my first talk with Will and was given a higher title within a week of that after implementing some of the changes. Things improved right away.It took about a month to find, buy, and get everything done on the list. Will was great about answering texts to give his "approval" before I bought an item. When I didn't know what kind of coffee table to buy after getting a rug, Will made a suggestion that was absolutely perfect.Our second consultation fine tuned what I had done on the list. A few more things were suggested and those helped me really understand how the energy was flowing in my space. A friend came over yesterday and was amazed at how much better everything felt and looked than before.The best, best and most impressive part of this was that Will was able to do all of this in another state from where I live. At some point, I will be leaving this house and moving to a new home. We are about to have our second child, and have been rearranging the house to make room for our new little guy. I work... in the field of design and have been intrigued by the process of feng Shui, but felt like it was a little difficult for me to understand. I listened to a few audiobooks, but it still seemed a little foreign. We didn’t have anything that was necessarily wrong, or off, but thought it might be helpful to receive council and consultation on a better arrangement for our home and suggestions on design that may influence our family in a positive way. I ultimately searched for consultants in my area, and found Will. The consultation was everything I hoped for and more. It started off with an info gathering time between will, myself, and my wife. We chatted for a good amount of time to get a deeper understanding of the process, each other, and our goals. The second part was a tour through the home where he gave us ideas, concepts of how to balance each space physically and energetically. He was able to give us advice on the arrangement of our spaces through a combo of Feng Shui and his understanding of psychology, interior design, and metaphysics. Upon entering one of the rooms of our home, he immediately noticed a problem that we never noticed, other than the fact that the room just felt off. He remarked that the room had experienced some geopathic stress, and after he told us that, I explained to him that during the construction of the home, that bathroom had a leak in the plumbing and the foundation was opened up to repair it. He had some techniques to help clear that energy, and it has felt better ever since! This is one of the many examples of the greatness we experienced, during his visit. It started with a simple question: Is it okay to have a blue roof? I Googled this question and received a number of... answers but nothing felt absolute. I'd had experience with Feng Shui and I know it works--if you can figure it out! Enter Will LeStrange. I'm building a house and barn in IL and I needed help in coordinating the two buildings and making them fit the environment. I Googled practitioners and Will's name came up along with others. But this was a Sunday and Will was the only one "open". I made the call and he spoke to me at length about the color blue and all the OTHER considerations that go into this color decision. This was all done without fee. Here is someone who really knows Feng Shui and loves what he does and wants to help. I made an appointment for a consultation. It was an amazing three hours. Will is a therapist, architect, designer, humorist, historian and Feng Shui master. Feng Shui is both simple and complex and I really benefitted from my three hour session. I know I will consult with Will again to make my new home a sanctuary for me and my animals.read more

Even though I’m based in Missouri I ended up hiring the New York based Feng Shui consultant Will LeStrange. I explained... to him I was having problems with my office and needed someone who could deal with negative energy in certain parts of the building. Will said it would be possible to do the consultation via Skype. The whole process was very enlightening. I followed his recommendations and the entire place feels so much better.
